Cyber bullying has become increasingly easy due to the increase of technology, the easy access to the technology and the vast number of people involved in these technologies for social reasons. Mobile phones and internet messaging(s) are the easiest ways to cyber bully people, particularly due to the fact that the victims are reluctant to withdraw from this community because of its social opportunities (it gives them an opportunity to talk to other people, not just bullies). However, this helps the bullies because it gives them easy access to the victim 24/7. It also makes the bully feel more safe as there is no direct physical contact and there is a general assumption that nothing bad can happen if you didnt 'really' do it (some people find the differenciation between internet and real life hard).
Its easier than traditional because you don't have to deal with the consequences.
Because anyone is capable of being an internet bully, you don't have to be big and tuff. You just have to know how to type.
Yes. Because it is done from behind a computer screen the cyberbully is faceless. They are not having to speak face to face so it is much easier.
It is easier than bullying someone face to face.
The primary place where cyber-bullying occurs is in chat rooms. Girls are about twice as likely to be victims and perpetrators of cyber-bullying than boys. The psychological and emotional effects of cyber-bullying are similar to those of real-life bullying.
Nobody started cyberbullying. I mean, did one person invent regular bullying? No. As long as there have been humans, there have been humans bullying each other. Once the internet became popular, in the early-to-mid 1990s, bullies discovered they could do ten times as much damage on the internet, and with far less consequences than they faced for their bullying in real life.
Girls between the ages of 10 to 14 experience bullying more than any other age/gender group.
Regular bullying is done in person. They may push you, call you names, spread things about you, vandalize your property, exclude you, or extort others into turning their back on you. Cyberbullying is bullying done using technology. They may set you up to be attacked by others. They may hack into your computer or phone. They may create and distribute fake photos and videos of you. They may take your private photos you shared with your friends and use them to humiliate you and turn others against you. They may defame you online, impersonate you, and turn your whole community against you.
It's considered cyberbullying if you do it AT ALL.
