Horse, Donkey are absolutely haram in Islam..
Let me explain you clearly..
In Islam animals are halal if and only if they satisfy two conditions.
1) Regurgiating Animals(Animals who pour back partially digested food from stomach, especially to cast up).
2)The Animals legs sole(feet) should be in such a way that the hoof should have been divided into two parts, i.e., in the form of V-shape.
But in case of Horse and Donkey, the 1st condition is satisfied whereas it doesn't satisfy the 2nd condition of horse shoes, were the horse legs sole is not in the form of V-shape, i.e it is not divided into two parts.. Thus Horse & Donkey is Haram.
Similarly, Pig is haram in Islam, because the 1st condition in case of pig is not satisfied, that is Pig doesn't Regurgiate the food from its stomach.. But point to be noted is, the pig has legs sole(feet) similar to cow, goat, camel in which the hoof is divided into two parts. It satisfies 2nd condition, but the pig doesn't satisfy the 1st condition.
