Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant (yellow coolant)
For 4.7L Magnum engine, it is the yellow plastic cap marked "engine coolant only" located on the driver's side of the black plastic reservoir at the very front of the engine compartment.
engine coolant is designed to heat up at high temperatures, so the liquid is thick so the opposite happens. This allows the engine to circulate the fluid and remain cool allowing the engine to operate longer. Hot metal does not work well
Regular coolant or a global coolant will work also. Thanks for your answer. I failed to mention that I have yellow in radiator now, should I stay with yellow? Is there harm in mixing colors?
Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine coolant (yellow colored) or similar but must be yellow
The container for coolant is to the right in the engine bay, above the battery, and has a yellow lid that states "coolant". On the side of the container you can see a marking. Fill up to marking when engine is cold.Do not even attempt to open container when engine is hot, steam will shoot out and burn you.
Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant ( green color ) or Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant ( yellow color ) Use the color that came in your vehicle or is in it now
look for a plug on a coolant pipe that has 1 black and 1 yellow wire that will be the coolant temp. sensor
According to the Owner Guide , from the factory it came with either : Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant ( green - color ) Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A or Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant ( yellow - color ) Ford specification WSS-M97B51-A1 . Check the engine coolant reservoir . It is a 50 / 50 mix of coolant and distilled water from the factory
On a first generation Neon (95-99) The coolant reservoir is located at the back of the engine on the passenger side. It should have a square yellow cap.
Thick white smoke is caused when coolant gets into a cylinder and from there into the exhaust. It is a sign that if it is not fixed real soon, you will blow or burn up your engine.
Engine coolant.
