o/d light blinks when there is a problem in your transmission. take it to a good transmission mechanic
If your car does not have 2nd gear and the O/D light comes on with in the first couple of minutes of driving, the band for 2nd/OverDrive is broken and needs to be replaced, I have heard that if it is just the O/D light flashing that a separate transmission cooler will fix it.
