Bad front wheel bearings trust me. They trip that light i have an 01 and 03 Montana and it happened with both @ around 80-100k miles. Will also kick your traction control light on if bearings are bad the lights usually appear @ the same time. Buy the bearings @ auto zone or similar discount store and try to find a a good mechanic buddy to install them if u r not comfortable because the dealer and most places will try to hose u for this job along with telling u everthing else is also wrong with your brakes. i think they cost around 100 each.
AnswerThe reason may be as simple as low brake fluid level Along with this you may want to check your braking system for leaks and the pads and shoes along with the general condition of the components listed above .I am still waiting for the answer u cant reset the abs light u have to take it to the shop, if your abs light is on there is something wrong with your trac system
The ABS light on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am can be reset by connecting an OBDII code reader to the vehicle's computer. It can reset all codes and determine their cause.
No, if the light is on all the time there is a problem with the ABS system. Have this looked into by a professional.
Do you mean ABS is light is on? If yes, ABS is not active. The sensor could be fouled and this will have the effect of turning off ABS. If you are like me, you remember when vehicles did not have ABS and we had to know how to brake in adverse weather... My van went the same I have not repaired it because I feel ABS gives a false sense of security, but like I say I began driving long before ABS.
No. If the G6 in question has ABS, when you first turn the car on you should see the light for ABS on the instrument panel.
Bring to a shop that has and ABS Scanner to detemine problem
The abs light is on because you have a problem with the abs system. Until the problem is fixed the abs light will remain on. Your local auto parts store can read the code(s) in the abs module to help determine the cause of the light. Once the repair is done a short drive will reset the abs light.
Antilock-Braking-System
Wheel speed sensor. have the ABS scaned
The light should not stay on. The light is staying on because there is a problem with the ABS system. As long as the light is on the ABS system is not functioning. You need to have it checked out if you expect the ABS system to work when you need it.
ETS is connected to your ABS. ETS is a traction control and is linked to your ABS so to get your ETS light off you'll probably have to fix your ABS to get the light off. On mine, fixing a broken wire on my ABS plug which runs into the hub fixed my problem.
The ABS warning light is on to tell you that there is a problem with the ABS system. Take your car to a knowledgeable mechanic and hook it up to a diagnostic tool and source the problem. It can be as simple as a ABS sensor/wire conector or it may be the ABS modual. Fix the problem and the light will go away. Hope this helps. "G"
