Why is your door open light and footwell lights still on even when driving a Ford Focus?

Because on the door open light is a switch which says " on-off-door". Apparently yours is in the "on" position which will, in time, run your battery down.

If hte fuse is removed it will disable your headlights and backlights altogether. The only way to disable it is to remove the rotary light switch and cover the pin marked "TFL"

Check the footwell storage bins are closed properly - there is a sensor in the lock mechanism which engages the footwell lights when open. You might need to lift the release catch whilst depressing the lid to ensure it closes correctly.
