The Crank Case is dirty. Use a good Crank Case cleaner to solve problem like Motor Medic Motor Flush. Warm engine 5 minutes and let clean out for 5 to 7 minutes. Then drain and use fresh oil.

the check engine light has to be cleared with the scanner, that wipes out the codes and resets. Answered by Littlestown Lube & Brake Littlestown, PA 717-359-5022 light will still be on. Black tape on dash light, best solution i can find.

I am still waiting for an answer. The book says on 1999 and newer Taurus's the engine and transaxle must be removed underneath the vehicle to change motor mounts. You will need a hoist and engine cradle. Big Job! Check with a proffessional.

Check Engine lights tell you you need to diagnose and engine problem, not change a gas cap. Gas cap do not register on the engines computer ECM (Engine Control Module). If your "Check Engine" light is on you probably need a tune-up or some sensor is malfunctioning. Take it to your local mechanic for a diagnostics.
