Import the media (pictures, video, music) you wish to use in your project. In the Timeline view, drag the media to the appropriate tracks. Fine-tune as desired (adding narration, titles/credits/transitions/effects. Then Publish/Finish your video (which exports/converts the project to a Standard Viewing Format).
Apple has great tutorials but i will show tell you how first you will need to name your project than you will have to record yourself or you can just put pictures. then there's cropping, adding music, and more play around with it and get familair

This will vary depending on the version of iMovie you are using.The general editing menu (where you can edit titles, add video effects, etc.) should be a prominent tab labeled Editing as soon as you open up a blank iMovie screen.

Be creative and use a display board. You should have pictures but it is not a necessity. You should have the name of your project typed out and put in bold letters at the very top. Then you should have smaller titles like what the project is about and what your hypothesis was and why are you doing the project. Have a colorful background and don't forget to be creative.
There is two ways to activate themes in iMovie.The first way is to do it when you open a new project. In the new project window select a theme by clicking on one of the big thumbnails.If you already have an existing project go to the T , or transition tab and right under it you will see a button that says "Set Theme".
