There are endless amounts of reasons to eat healthy. Healthy food gives a happier, healthier life. It helps stop many nasty diseases and illnesses. It helps with sleep, thinking, energy, and overall quality of life.
Because when you eat unhealthily, you become overweight, obese, develop clogged arteries, and many many diseases. These all can lead to an early death. Eating healthy keeps you at a maintained weight. The food passes right along and actually nurtures your body rather than just tasting good and going straight to your thighs.

Junk Food- So good it kills you!
You are what you eat. So, why would you want to be disgusting and fat when you can be healthy and fit? You see that's the biggest problem in our society. We are simply too fat. Some might say what's wrong with this? Isn't it our choice what we eat? Yes, and for that reason I am forced to write this column to tell you what you are doing wrong.
Firstly, we all say we want what's best for our children right? Well did you know that children with obese parents are twice as likely to become obese themselves? Obesity leads to numerous different illnesses such as Heart disease, type two Diabetes and unfortunately so many more. Parents can't see how their little angel's future is not looking bright and eventually they are grown into fat slobs. We all know it's true even if it's harsh. Is this really what you imagined for your child?
Obesity not only destroys your health, but also your social and personal life. Studies show that 28% of people who eat fast food on regular bases are more likely to go through depression in their life time. You can never be FAT and HAPPY. It's one or the other. My life was hanging on that cliff not too long ago. Every morning I would struggle to look at myself in the mirror and because I was too ignorant to change I would just leave it as that. Leading what I thought was a normal lifestyle; I continued to be a fat couch potato, obese, depressed and just plain pathetic. Fortunately I realised that my life was failing and that my future was bleak... and so I turned around and changed my life. Now the real question is can you?
Furthermore, we all know that junk food is extremely harmful to your health yet we all continue to gorge ourselves in it every day. Why is this? I agree that foods such as chips, chocolate and cake may taste nice but do you know what they are doing to you on the inside? Foods such as these that contain so much fat clog up your arteries and (as mentioned before) lead to severely ill health. What's more, too much salt in your body can cause hypertension which triggers high blood pressure and many other life threatening diseases. Do you really think those very few delicious bites are worth all that disaster?
I used to think that if you were chubby and someone even so much as mentioned it, even as advice, it would be considered insulting. However that was in my larger days and now my views have hardened. If you were to be sitting on the park bench and someone sat down beside you who began injecting themselves with God knows what, you would probably tell them that using drugs is not good for them. Well how about if you were in McDonalds (God forbid) and you were sitting next to someone heavy who was munching on a Double Quarter Pounder Burger (the fattiest burger there is) licking their greasy fingers and then wiping it on their too small for their giant belly t-shirt? Would you speak up? No, because it would probably be considered rude. Why is this? Isn't taking drugs as deadly as eating all that fat? Nevertheless we still continue to ignore those chunky people instead of at least making an effort to tell them- in the nicest possible way- that eating that food is simply not good for them.
Therefore I think that we all have a duty as fellow human beings to look out for each other, like I have hopefully done by writing this column. I don't mean to suggest that we all become preachy and annoying but just by educating even just your family, of the benefits of eating healthily and the dangers of not doing so, we can make a difference. After all the children are our future and right now the future is not looking so bright. But we can change that by just eating the right foods. It's really not that hard.
People should eat healthy so they won't get fat and so they don't have serious health problems from not eating healthy.
Eat fruits, wheat, veggies, and drink milk, sugar free juice, and water!
