The recommended daily intake for total fat in the diet should be between 20 to 35 percent. If total fat intake is greater than 35 percent of total calories, you will increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. From this percentage saturated fat should not exceed 7 percent. Eating too much fat will lead to obesity which can develop into Diabetes, Heart disease, bone disease, cancer and stroke. In some cases a high fat diet could also cause infertility. High-fat foods include commercial baked goods, fried foods, butter, red meats, whole milk products, poultry, egg yolks and seafood. Fat consumption sources should come from unsaturated foods such as polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fat products that can be found in vegetable oils, nuts, and avocados.
