You got it all wrong. The Allies didn't want Japan. Japan started the war by aggressively attacking the countries surrounding it. The Allies grouped together to stop Japan and liberate the countries that were under Japanese control. The Allies were trying to force Japan to surrender and this looked as it might require an invasion of the Japanese islands.
dont listen to anything it says above. Japan was forced into the Picific War in order to create freedom. Japan violated now international laws or treaties.

∙ 13y agoMr.Truman and many other Americans wanted to end the war in the Pacific, so he dropped the atomic bomb on Japan in HiroshimaAugust 6, 1945. Japan would not surrender though. Then Truman dropped another atomic bomb in Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. Japan surrendered August 14, 1945 (V-J Day).

Unfortunately it was the only credible choice for the Allies in WWII. Japan did want to surrender (to surrender in Japan was to lose face). The battles for Iwo Jima and Okinawa were bloodbaths for both sides. An island invasion of Japan would have cost probably a million casualties for both the Allies and Japan. Dropping the two atom bombs was difficult but the only realistic choice for the Allies and Japan. Japan soon surrendered after Nagasaki was bombed.
