Excellent engineering. It was designed to do certain things for a certain amount of time as a minimum. It turned out to be an "Energizer Bunny", to NASA's delight. Also, the engineers have learned a great deal about the robot ships they launch in the last 30 years, making each successive one better than the last.
The Mars rover got on Mars in these pods that opened up when they got there and then the Mars rover started building up and there are two there right now and one is called Spirit and the other is called Hope.
So far, Nasa has successfully acquired four Mars rovers: the Mars Pathfinder, Sojourner, Opportunity, and the Spirit. These were managed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Mars Science Laboratory.
Mars is not livable. First of all, it is too cold.Second, there is little water, and to transport enough for it to be able to support maybe a hundred people would be unrealistic. The only life on Mars, as far as we as humans know anyway, is the Mars Rover, and its controllers are right here on Earth.
Not yet; their space program is not quite that ambitious. They are sending a rover to Mars though for a three month mission. They anticipate sending it out in late 2020. They are also planning a manned Moon mission in 2036 or so.
the question doesn't make sense NEW 8/14/2012 (PurpleMouse): I think the ask-er is trying to say, "how long did it take the spaceship to land on mars?" It took a year for a rover to land, so maybe less for a spaceship.
The Mars 2, Prop-M rover, was sent in 1971 and was the first Mars Rover to be sent. Unfortunately the attempt was unsuccessful. The first successful Mars rover (and the third successful rover sent into space) was Sojourner. It was launched by NASA on December 4, 1996, and landed July 4, 1997. The most recent, successful, and currently operating Mars rover is the Opportunity (MER-B), Mars Exploration Rover, which landed successfully on January 25, 2004.So far there have been a total of five Mars Rovers.

the first mars rover was made in 1971 and it was named Prop M and was launched to mars but it failed. So they made another one called Mars 3 but that also failed. After the third one was made it was able to communicate and the ones after that were made were also successful. But the first mars rover was made in 1971:D (hope this helps!!)
so it can discover mars.
There's no specific time limit for how long a rover can last on Mars. Accidents and mechanical failure can affect the ability of a rover to survive. The Opportunity rover has so far been working almost non-stop for seven years. Its twin rover Spirit has not been heard from in almost a year and may no longer be functional.
There are 2 rovers on mars because so one can go here and find something and the other can find something else some were else. OKAY?
nothing so far
It landed on January 4th 2004. It's still operational today. So just over 7 years as of January 2011.
not yet, only the mars land rover has survived the journey so far
Mars looks like it had water at one point and it was pretty deep.
Big Rocket Crane
No, the tires are not full of air so they can't go flat.
