SOUNDS LIKE THE STARTER CONTACTS HAVE WORN DOWN. THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. THE PROBLEM WILL GET WORSE UNTIL THE STARTER CANNOT MAKE CONTACT AT ALL AND WON'T START.
AnswerI have a 97 Intrepid 3.5 that had the same sympoms. A faulty power cable that connects the battery to the "under the hood" fuse box was corroded. It looked as though it was manufactured to give out. The cable widened in diameter for a couple of inches as it intered the fuse box. There is a small hole that let water in that eventually caused the malfunction. at that the that way so Dodge could get a few extra dollars to replace it for 180 dollars. I said hell with that. They found it and I just spliced into it, pulled it apart (because its a male/female connection underneath the rubber sheilding), wire brushed the corrosion away, and electrical taped it back together. I was out 5 minutes and a 10 stretch of electrical tape. To hell with that 180 dollars they wanted.the solenoid on your starter is finished, replace the starter......
Battery is dead.
The Dodge intrepid will not start after overheating because it blocks the radiator cap.
97 dodge intrepid, new fuel pump, won't start
1999 dodge intrepid is not starting I change crank and camshaft sensor and it stall will not start what can i do next.
what do i do
need more info on that one. what sound can you hear when trying to start, if engine is not turning over.
Your question is very confusing. If the car runs then it has to start. Please clarify.
If the 1996 Dodge Intrepid will not start, there might be an issue with the battery or the starter. This could also be a problem with the solenoid or the fuel gauge or fuel pump. The problem and the fix will vary depending on whether the car is completely dead or is cranking when the ignition is turned.
Because the interior lights 10 amp fuse was blown.
CAR WONT START Transmission may not shift. Check engine light could be on.
Maybe start with dimmer switch, that's what I did on mine.
