try re-installing iTunes. If that doesn't work, try another iPhone on your system, or your iPhone on another system with itunes.. if you determine the phone is the problem, then you might need to reset your iphone completely. I recommend you contact Apple's iPhone support if you want to avoid doing a full iPhone restore.
