Remove the air cleaner housing or at least lift it up and prop it.Clean the carburetor linkage especially the choke!!!!!. Use carb cleaner(I prefer brake cleaner more thoro) and then lube ALL the linkage with liquid wrench or bp blaster (wd 40 is NO good) and this will correct the problem!These carbs are notorious for sticking choke linkage I know first hand after owning mine since new for 22 yrs.

That engine is computer controlled therefore the idle was preset / calibrated from the factory and there is NO adjustment. You need to have the engine scaned with an engine scanner to see what is making it Idle to fast. Check for vacuum leaks first.
