Can be a defective thermal relay or the fan is defective. Turn on the A/C and if the fan does not run suspect a bad fan motor. Apply 12 volts directly to the fan motor to see if it is good. If it runs the fan motor is good. Answer: Also check the coolant level, also check the coolant temp sensor located on the thermostat housing, on the lower radiator hose.

Does the two cooling fans on a 1995 Honda Accord have to turn on when the car is running?

No the 2 fans will not come on when you start the engine. One of the fans will come on anytime the A/C is being used. The other fan will come on along with the A/C fan when the engine reaches a preset temperature to prevent it from overheating.

What are the 2 fans for on a '91 Honda accord are they both cooling fans?

Yes One is called a "Radiator fan" and the other a "Condenser fan." The Radiator fan comes on when the engine coolant temperature is above 106C (223F). The Condenser fan comes on when you activate the Air Conditioning.

The sensor on the thermostat housing is a cooling fan switch. Cooling fan switch closes the circuit to engage the cooling fan(s) when the optimum temperature is reached. What might be causing the fans to not turn on in a 1993 Honda Accord making it overheat and how can you fix the problem?

Engine Coolant Temp Sensor may be faulty or the Cooling Fan Relay check the wiring to the fan make sure it hasn't come disconnected. Check that you have power to the fuse, the relay, and to the cooling fan. Sounds to me like a minor wiring issue! Good Luck!!!
