Check you fuel pump and filter; it may be getting weak. Chances are if this is it , the pump will soon quit altogether. This problem may be a number of things but an electric fuel pump can act just as you wrote. I hope this helps you. Mark
I have a 1998 bonneville. It does the same thing. Now i have to fill it like every 200 miles or so.
Does the engine turn over every time you try, or does it sometimes do nothing when you turn the key?
first u take it out thyen take off the plastic un bolt every thing take off wire clips and its easier to just go get one from the junk yard u poo head
Either bad gauge (unlikely) or bad sending unit (probably). Either way you're going to have to pull the gas tank to diagnose the problem. Either that or top it off every 200 miles and forget about it.
Although GM likes to claim "maintenance free for 100,000 miles", any smart person would change them around 50,000 miles or every 4 years, whichever comes first.
