it is possible the fule filter needs changed due to fragments floating in and out of the filter it can cause the car to stop when you stop it flushes the filter by the shifting of the fule in the tank causing the filter to have a small amount of opening in the filter but if it gets plugged again it will stop once more
The reason your 2001 Hyundai Sonata lost all power while you were driving and stalled and won't start again is either the battery or the alternator. If you have no power you most likely have an alternator problem.
Because Hyundai is the Walmart of cars :)
There must be a "check engine" light on. Start with investigating the DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
My car will start up and then when i push on the pedal for gas it just cuts out after 6 sec what is going on please.
As the 2006 Hyundai Sonata is quite an old model, finding a review could be quite tricky. It would be a good place to start looking at a website such as Whatcar or Autotrader, or failing this try looking for back issues of motoring magazines in your local Library.
Loose or corroded battery cables, defective ignition switch, or a defective starter.
From my experience, If your crank sensors bad the car will not start up at all.
Does it turn over? When you try to start the car can you hear a ticking noise? If there's ticking it could be your battery or alternator but if it doesn't tick it's probably your starter.
O2 sensors on all vehicles are located in the exhaust system. Start at the exhaust manifold(s) and visually work your way back, you will find them.

common problem with all hyundais and kias its a stuck open purge valve. when refueling fuel vapors travel past the stuck open valve and flood the intake with fuel vapors giving hard start condition.
Start at the fuel filter. It may be clogged.
