CK FOR LOSE GROUNDS OR MAYBE A SHORT A module controls electrical accessories that should be died when the car is off. Those items include the radio and power windows. The module in that era of Firebird was later redesigned. Replace that module with the newer version.

I hate to admit I searched this topic before noticing the "hr" and "mn" buttons on the bottom right of the stereo console (1998 Pontiac grand prix...stereo with equalizer built in). just press the buttons to adjust the time (with the stereo turned off).
You get within a few feet of the car and press and hold the lock and unlock buttons for 7 seconds!
Push the set button and within 10 seconds push the seek and scan buttons to change time.
Hold down both buttons where you get to the oil life function, and it should reset itself to zero.

Turn the ignion on, turn radio off. Press the "Set" button. Use the "seek" and "scan" buttons to set the time.
Open the trunk, remove the plastic buttons that hold the carpeting in place on the passenger side, unscrew the trim ring that is around the mast on the outside of the car, there are 2 bolts inside the trunk that you have to remove and an electrical plug to remove, then unplug the antenna cable and the whole assembly can be replaced
with the motor running and radio off press buttons 1 and 4 on the radio this should unlock the radio
