have you ever had the transmission filter changed and fluid changed?? Great place to start looking. If you have already checked the fluid level!
Yes, of course most parts can be changed. Its not all that different in principle from changing parts in a car. But if you don't know how, in either case, I recommend paying a shop to do it for you.

The transmission fluid on a 2005 Dodge Neon is changed by placing a drain pan under the vehicle, removing the drain plug, and allowing the transmission to empty. The drain plug is installed, fluid added through the filler tube, and the level tested via the dipstick.
It is unlikely that the transmission would fail after a fluid change. The transmission filter should be changed at the same time. If it was not changed at the same time it could have caused the issue.
The transmission fluid on a 2002 Harley Davidson Fatboy motorcycle is changed by removing the drain plug and allowing the fluid to empty. The drain plug is then put back in place and fluid added into the filler tube.
