you need to have your charging system tested. also check the battery it may be bad.
Charge it, replace it,test the alternator,Charge it, replace it,test the alternator,
your alternator is not charging your battery..u need to get a new alternator
have an alternator, battery, and electrical check to find out what the problem is. battery may not be taking a charge, or the alternator is not putting out enough voltage.
voltage regulator.
bad pcm regulator
Bad alternator? Bad battery (Unable to take a charge) Bad fusable link?
it should because car is running off alternator and if you do this it will not charge battery back up
Has the battery been tested, does the alternator on the Durango try to charge?... If the truck runs with the battery but the battery doesn't take or hold a charge, it has to be the battery being bad or extremely bad terminals so that the charge can't reach the battery. Age of the battery doesn't matter, a fairly new one can still go bad.
My 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan began doing this and it is because the battery has a low charge, could be due to old battery, or even bad alternator. The quickest and easiest fix is to charge the battery and then wait and see if it happens again after. If it happens then you should have it looked at by a professional
bad alternator ? its not charging the battery
The battery is only a storage device. The alternator replaces the electrical energy that the battery uses every time you start the engine and every time you turn on an electrical device in the car. If the alternator isn't working or isn't working properly, the battery will eventually discharge. Answer if the alternator is in fact working but you have let the battery run empty, simply getting a jump start might not allow the battery to charge sufficiently once you start driving again. you have to charge the battery up a sufficient amount or the battery will just run out again.
If the alternator tests out OK (most auto parts stores will test one for free), then follow the large wire from the alternator to the battery and test continuity. There is probably one or two fuses or fusible links. Hope this helps. Mark
