Low brake fluid in master cylinder? Parking brake not fully released?
...I have the exact same problem with my 1993 corolla.......Brake System warning light and discharge warning light
Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine the problem
Yes
if they come on when first started and then go off, that is the computer doing a system check if they come on and stay on,that is the telling you that there is a problem in your brake system.get it fixed before you kill someone if they come on when first started and then go off, that is the computer doing a system check if they come on and stay on,that is the telling you that there is a problem in your brake system.get it fixed before you kill someone I had the same problem and was told it was a speed sensor. I didn't have time to go and get it fixed, and it went away in a couple of weeks and never came back on. (knock on wood!)
The connector for the brake controller is under the dashboard on your right close to the driver's foot rest. If you buy the genuine Toyota wiring harness with the connector then it will not take you more than a minute or so to install it as it fits right into the wiring harness that leads away from the brake controller. Make sure that everything is fixed in place and not lose.
Most front wheel drive vehicles do. -The caliper in all vehicles is fixed and the 'floating disc' is the brake rotor.
Location (s) of Brake Light SwitchesI am not familiar with your vehicle, BUT... generally, there are two types of brake light switches, and the type determines the location. The most common brake light switch is a mechanicalswitch, and they are usually located behind/below the dashboard, near, and above the brake pedal arm. Sometimes they are mounted on a metal dashboard brace, and occassionally, some even mount/"ride" on the brake pedal arm itself! Also, most of the mechanical types are operated by a plunger extending out of the switch, and in contact with a fixed, or moving, part of the bracket or brake pedal arm.The other type of brake light switch is a hydraulically operated switch and is usually located inside the engine compartment, and attached to [screws into] the brake master cylinder, or a junction block in the brake system hydraulic tubing which splits the brake lines off to go to the wheel slave cylinders.
A 2004 Chevy suburban should still be under warranty, unless you have custom lights, you can take it to the dealership and have fixed for free.
The brake light switch is either stuck or out of adjustment. Adjust or replace if necessary. It is located on or near the brake pedal swing arm.Answermore likely, your brake fluid is low.Are you talking about the "brake" light on the dashboard.. or the brake lights on the back of the car?? First, if it's the dashboard light, you need to add brake fluid or possibly change the front brake pads since the fluid runs low when the brake pads run low. Secondly, if you are talking about the rear brake lights, it could be because the little rubber pad that depresses the brakelight switch on the brake pedal when you let your foot off is worn out (has a hole in it) and the plunger on the switch is poking through the pad (which is mounted on the pedal). I fixed this problem once by simply gluing/taping a dime on the pad which made a hard surface for the switch plunger to depress against. Just look under the dash at the brake pedal and you'll see what I mean.
Sure! You will probably get quality work for a premium price.
There is a brake switch which is actually behind the brake pedal, the fuse would not have blown its more like the brake switch. Easily fixed too.
If the caliper leaks brake fluid, the immediate problem isn't the brake pads - it's the brake lines (or the connections). Get that fixed pronto!
