I am assuming that the question means the water backs up when the washer is used. When the washer drains, it forces a significant amount of water into your pipes in a fairly short period of time. If your pipes are even partially blocked, this large quantity of water can overload the system. However, if this problem occurs at times other than when you do laundry, and there are no other indications of slow or blocked drain lines, I am stumped.

When you have a shower toilet gurgles water backs up what do you do?

Your drain line is plugged somewhere after your shower and toilet line are connected. The reason for the gurgle in your toilet is because air is trapped in the drain and your toilet is the closest place for air to flow to. If you had a vent on your toilet trap arm then it would gurgle in the vent rather in your toilet but your drain is still plugged and needs to be snaked out and maybe your drain line needs to be examined for right grade or broken.

How do you conserve water in washing machines?

You can run your discharge pipe from the washer into a laundry tub with the drain put in. After the wash cycle, the water will discharge from the washer into the laundry tub. Keep the water in there and replace the washer discharge pipe back into the usual drain. Let the washer run it's normal cycle. Take the clothes out and put them in the dryer or on the clothes line. The next step is the tricky part. You have to get a pump of some sort to put the discharged soapy water from the laundry tub back into the washer. This water will still be okay to wash the next set of clothes. I would wash the whites first, though. lol

G E stacked washer dryer the water does not drain would a cracked belt be the problem or is it the pump?

How do you put a sump pump in when you have a septic system and no good fall around house?

If all that you're pumping is water, just rout it to the septic system. Ideally, this would be through a floor drain or the water softener drain or a washer drain. Sump pumps have a screen on them to prevent them from pumping out dirt and rocks.

Causes of a washer not draining.?

There are several things that could be causing a washer not to drain. The first and most simple explanation would be a clog in the hose. Another reason could be the latch to the lid is not closing tightly and therefore not allowing the washer to spin and drain. It could also be a broken belt or pump.

What would cause the old 4-inch drain pipe to overflow when the washer drains after installing a new washing machine and how can you fix it?

Partial blockage. Snake the drain.

Why would your kitchen drain gurgle loudly when your washer drains even though they are in different rooms?

your drains are probably on the same waste line. by upc code your waste line should tie into your main sewer line 6 feet from any horizontal to vertical change in direction. this is due to the fact that the sudds from your washer can actually go up your drain line. It is possible you have a non functioning vent. The heavy flow of water into the wast line from the washer can be causing air to enter into the wast line from the kitchen waist line. Gurgle sounds come from the air pulling through a trap serving the kitchen sink. If you live in a very old house you may not have a vent at all or you may have a vent line run in steel pipe. Scale and rust can dislodge and fall down into the vent line and plug it up. An undersized vent or if in winter an iced up vent can cause the same problem. David A partial block in the mainline sewer can also cause this. Find your clean out and watch when your washer drains. If you see it backup at all, you've got to get it cleaned out.

What would remove water from a river?

My washer and dryer are currently in my basement and I would like to install it on the main floor but don't know how to install the pipes for the drain to still go into the basement drain?

Without knowing the layout or type of drain pipe and location, it is impossible to give a good answer. Drill a hole in the floor and run the drain with PVC. Drains should fall 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch for every foot of distance. Horizontal distance. There may be a drain line that is closer to the first floor location that you can tap into. Washer drain does not need a vent, it gets it's venting around the washer hose.

Do marble chips absorb water?

No the water would drain around the chips. They would not absorb water.

Can the washing machine drain hose be at floor level?

I have had it like that at a house I lived at, it would drain directly into the basement floor drain, however it was a pain in the behind, because I often found myself tripping over it, or if the kiddos wanted to ride their bikes or 3 wheeler toddler things in the basement they would get hooked up on the hose also. And if it got to far away from the floor drain I had a water mess, so if at all possible go with the drain behind washer, out of sight ... out of mind.

What is wrong if when running the washer and draining the upstairs bathtub at the same time water overflows in the washer drain so much that it runs all over the floor?

DRAIN LINE LEAVING YOUR HOME WHICH IS ALL WATER AND WASTE IS PLUGGED,,,,SIZE OF LINE PLUGGED IS HANDLING ON THING BEING DONE BUT NOT TWO OR MORE,,,,MORE WATER THAT IS BEING FLUSHED, TUB DRAINING OR TOILET FLUSHING AT SAME TIME MAKES WORSE,,,EXCESS WATER JUST BACKS UP AS IT CANNOT GO OUT THE PIPE...THERE ARE SOME DRAIN LINE PRODUCTS THAT CAN BE FLUSHED INTO TOILET TO UNPLUG LINE,,,OTHER THAN THAT WOULD NEED SOMEONE (PLUMBER WITH A ROTATING LINE THAT WILL GO DOWN THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF DRAIN LINE UNTIL IT CLEARS THE BLOCKAGE
