The outside temperature sensor on a 2003 Altima is located just behind the front bumper. it is on the passenger side of the vehicle in the undercarriage.
try opening your trunk with the key. this works for me......good luck

My Altima had that problem and it was the water pump going out. It started with temperature gauge was moving, but then it started leaking and finally the heater stopped being warm at idle.
It might have run out of gas.
Running over a big rock worked for me.
Nissan suggests 5w30 weight oil for a 2005 Altima. This is for general driving, towing or racing will require a different grade.
Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine the problem
