this is normal and nothing to worry about. Almost all vehicles make a whining noise in reverse
Ford Mondeo's sound the same reversing as they do going forwards no whining also VW Passatt i think the Golf's are the same also maybe modern technology has improved this.
probably bad enough listening to your wife whining you can do without your car doing it.
Yes, the bearing in that pulley may be going bad.
The clutch Throw Out Bearing is going bad.
check transmission fluid level . then check differential oil level also that model ford needed additive in diff oil to stop noise was a ford recall on that
The torque converter might be going. but first check your fluid level.
ON the 2006 impala that whining noise is actually the electronics when you accelerate. Its more or less electronic pulses/signals My 06 Impala is the same.
The whining noise in our 2001 2.2 cavalier turned out to be the a/c compressor. It ended up going out at about 120,000 miles. I would suggest having it serviced. I wish we would have had ours serviced.
yes but why would you leave it loose?
The loud whining sound could be wheel bearings going out. However, it is also possible that the speedometer bearings or cable are defective.
clutch packs going out
The relays have nothing to do with the whining noise, they just complete the circuit and make things work. The whining noise is the fuel pump and that is a common problem with Chevy That noise will not hurt anything, but I would change the fuel filter and that may quite the pump a little. A stoped up fuel filter will burn a fuel pump up.
