The rims should fit on that truck...the only concern would be if they upsized the brake pads from 1998. i have a 98 and had fifteens on it for a while without any problems. the 4.75" backspacing is just a measurement of how far the wheels will stick out...not 4.75 inches, but the difference between that and the factory backspacing. EX: if the backspacing on those rims from the factory are 3" your rims should stick out an additional 1.75 inches. hope this helps ya out!
