That is the called for size on my 1992 S-10 Blazer and my 1997 Olds Bravada. Should tell you the size your vehicle calls for on the end of the door there should be a tag. Also there is a tag in Glove box can't remember it says the tire size there too or not

235 70r15
235 75 15
NO, this is not an acceptable swap. The 75 series tire will be 7.02% smaller is overall diameter. You should never go under or over 3%.
You can, of course, but it is not a recommended substitute. It is never acceptable to go over or under 3% of the OEM size. The 235/75-15 is 4.09% larger in overall diameter than the OEM tire. You can however switch to a 235/70-15 which is an almost perfect swap at only 0.92% larger. This would be the size you need to go to.
