yes it will. i swapped over engines from a 73 and a 76 and kept existing transmissions in place. worked just fine...318 and 360 are same block basically

the bolt patterns on the 318 and a 360 are the same. so as long as you can "fit" the transmission behind it, in essence, yes. but do your dimensional analysis either way. and consider the t-case and driveline.

A 727 (Smallblock) will fit the 273, 318, 340 and 360, but the bell housing is different for the big blocks. You would need to find a 727 from a 383, 400 or 440
