It depends on the underlying crime. Florida must determine whether the charge is serious enough to warrant the expense of going to Texas for the defendant and transporting back. If it is a minor misdemeanor, it's not worth it. If we're talking about a murder warrant, definitely.

Yes, depending upon the charge and if certain legal standards are met. As is true of the other 48 states within the United States of America, Florida and Texas tend to respect, and cooperate with, each other on extradition requests. For extradition tends to be requested in regard to the serious, felony charges and the more heinous of crimes. But neither Florida and Texas nor the other states make decisions once a country other than the U.S. becomes involved. For such involvement needs the presence of the federal government as decisionmaker.

Yes, depending upon the charge and the meeting of certain legal standards. As is the case with the other 48 states within the United States of America, Florida and Ohio tend to respect, and cooperate with, each other, and the other states, over extradition requests. For such requests tend to be made regarding the more serious, felony charges and the more heinous crimes. But neither Florida and Ohio nor the other states make decisions when a country other than the U.S. becomes involved. For involvement of Another Country always needs the presence of the federal government as decisionmaker.

All US states and territories honor each other's requests for extradition - there are no 'safe-haven' states - It is impossible to know with certainty whether a particular state will choose to extradite you for a particular offense, or not, there are simply too many variables. It may depend, in part, on the offense and the seriousness of it, and/or how badly they want you returned - most states WILL extradite for felony offenses and crimes of violence.

-----------------------

The interstate agreement on detainers (extradition) only applies to felonies. So no, Florida will not extradite for a misdemeanor.

Once TN has indicated that they will extradite you it will take as long as it takes. It is nothing like being transferred from one county to another within the same state. Intersate legal and administrative requirements must be met in order to satisfy the courts (and the Constitution) that is was done properly. If you have not heard and are still being held after 15 days, file a Writ of Habeus Corpus to determine your status.

Yes. In theory, and generally in practice, Florida and Tennessee, as well as the other 48 states within the United States of America, tend to respect, and cooperate with, each other's extradition requests. For such requests tend to be made over the more serious, felony charges and for the more heinous crimes. But neither Florida and Tennessee nor the other states make decisions once the involvement of a country other than the U.S. becomes apparent. For involvement of another country always demands the role of the federal government as decisionmaker.
