It depends on the country in question. In places like Albania, the Muslim majority accepts Christians and Jews as equal citizens of the Albanian State. In most other Muslim-majority countries, non-Muslims are allowed to practice their religions, but are not accepted as true equals under the law. There remains violence perpetrated against religious minorities across the Islamic world, especially in Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran where minority communities are large.
