Loosen the engine mount retaining bolt. Jack up your 2000 Monte Carlo engine. Remove the engine retaining bolt and the engine mount bushing. Put the new engine mount bushing in and reverse the process.

The 1985 Monte Carlo has four motor mounts. There are two motor mounts on top, a mount on the lower engine by the crank pullet and a transmission mount located on the lower left.
On my 2001 there are 3 I think. one by the engine mount on the passenger side. One in each head on the looking up from bottom.

I believe it is in the exhaust manifold on the backside near firewall. to access it, block rear wheels set E-brake. remove the motor mounts on the front that mount on the header panel by the radiator, place it in neutral and you should be able to rotate the engine forward to get at it.

You jack up motor a couple inches by balancer (carefully) after unbolting both. You also have to loosen bolt to trans mount and check linkages exhaust etc. to ensure they are safe to move a couple inches without damage. Check everything and only lift as much as you have to.
