I would assume it would. I haven't worked with those specific years but everything I've seen with the Cherokee(and Jeep in general) is that most years are interchangeable as long as they are same engine size.
The 1988 Jeep Cherokee air conditioning low pressure port is located on the air conditioning compressor. The low pressure port will be on the right hand side of the compressor.
You put Freon in a 1994 Jeep Cherokee XJ through the low pressure feed to the air compressor. You will want to look for the hose with the green cap to determine you have the right location.

An AW4 transmission from a 1991 Jeep Cherokee will not fit into a 1988 Jeep Cherokee. The transmissions in the varying years do not appear to be compatible with one another.
Hi, I have a 93 jeep grand Cherokee with 250,000 miles. I was quoted $650. 00 to have the compressor and dryer replaced. I did the labor(30min) and the shop recharged it for around $370. This also included the compressor, dryer and o ring kit. Thanks, Mo
The 1994 Jeep Cherokee has a recommended towing capacity of no more than 2500 pounds. The tongue weight for the 1994 Jeep Cherokee is 550 pounds.
Yes it will.
Check for a blown fuse. If fuse is OK, see if the wiring at the compressor is OK. Clutch may also be defective. If the compressor comes on and off intermediately, it is low of refrigerant.
Yes you can
No, different trans's EDit: Depends on what the engine is... if Both Jeeps have a L6 4.0 then yes the Transmission should fit.. if the Grand Cherokee has a V6,V8.. then no..
