If you have the MONEY and the KNOW HOW, You can put whatever you want in there.
But as far as it just hooking right up to everything and having no problems. NO.
It had a 455.
Check out "Hemmings Motor News".
yes, same bolt pattern. Chances are the 455 buick had a turbo hydromnatic 400 transmission, hopefully that is what your 350 had. If not, crossmember, driveshaft and linkage will all have to be modified or changed.
yes might have to change motor mounts
Chevy, Buick and Cadillac shared the same bolt pattern as did Oldsmobile and Pontiac but, some transmissions had two bolt patterns to fit all GM blocks. If your Chevy Turbo 350 transmission has the dual pattern it will fit the Oldsmobile engine, if not it won't fit.
No. they are different head designs.
yes
Same block, should fir right in
Yes you can...the 400 is the same engine as the 455...all you need are 455 frame mounts and motor mounts if you car had a small block V8 (340)...if it had a 400, a 455 bolts in perfectly since it is the same as a 455 externally!!! Year One, Inc. and TA Performance has whatever parts you may need.
600lbs
A 455 is probably the easiest to find cheapest . I bet cars inc have motor mounts for the swap Do not put a Chevy 350 in there or I will never ever ever speak to you again . You SHOULD put a 430 C.I. 7.0L Buick motor in there , that's whats meant to be there , 360 bhp & 475 ft lbs of torque.
The firing order for a 1970-76 455 should be 18436572 Enjoy!
