It should, as they both receive their signals from the BCM, but even the dealer service department is not 100% sure.
The warning chime is on the instrument cluster. It needs to be disassembled to get to, and it cannot be disabled because it is tied in to the instrument cluster.
You will have to remove the instrument cluster. This may be an LED that should never have failed.
possible faulty instrument cluster, depending upon year, if your 5 is before 98, a new improved instrument cluster with a software update was made from 98 and on, you may need this new cluster, however have it diagnoised by a dealer first and make sure there are no faults in the trans (egs) control module first..
The instrument cluster must be removed to replace the light bulbs on it.
Remove the 2 screws at the top of the instrument cluster bezel (or dress front cover), carefully pry out with a small screwdriver and set aside. Remove the 4 screws that hold the instrument cluster to the inner dash and pull out. Turn instrument cluster over to access the bulbs for removal and replacement. Twist the bulb retainer to remove.
remove trim surrounding cluster, remove bolts securing cluster to dash, disconnect electrical connectors at cluster, twist failed bulbs out, reverse to install
You have to remove the dashboard, then remove the instrument cluster. On the back of the cluster, you'll find that you can unscrew the bulbs from the back and replace them. I've done it myself on my own 99 Sunfire --- CanadianCynosure
there aretwo sizes for the bulb and bulb base small and large but you can replace just the bulb from the base socket. I recommend that you (url )instrument panel light bulbs or cluster panel light bulbs to find the two sizes that you will need. autolumination.com or autoanything.com or rockauto.com

I bought a 1994 silverado dash cluster, to put in my 1990 silverado because i was told it would fit. I took the old one out, and was going to put the 1994 silverado cluster in, but the plug in the back was not the same, but I have been told several times that it would work, so i am not sure, perhaps the plug can be changed With the first answer, im not sure about the plugs. But everything else from an 88-98 interchange so i don't see why it wouldn't
