yes.
Depending on how long the engine was allowed to run low on oil, it may have suffered serious damage which would shorten it's life span.
Most likely your motor is low on oil and is knocking from being over heated.
It's according to where the noise is coming from if it's the rods knocking due to low oil it will get faster because they move up and down and move faster when the motor gets faster.
hi an low switch is bad
knocking as in spark knock? or engine knock? spark knock is adjusted through a knock sensor via ignition timing. eng. knock is due to brg. knock as in low oil pressure or sluge in engine or just a tired motor
Several things can cause a knock. low octane gas worn bearings timing not set correctly or even something loose on the outside of the motor
your oil pump could have gone bad or you have a restriction in the flow like a clogged oil filter. needless to say if it is knocking it may have caused major dammage
Cause low pressure oil pump
My 2000 Grand Prix would have a low-speed knocking noise coming from the drivers side as the CV axle was failing. The loss of lubrication in the CV Boots allows the joint to make a knocking/tapping sound at a low speed. If the knocking is coming from the engine compartment, then it could be an entirely different problem.
When your engine has a knocking noise, it could mean that a rod has been thrown. It could also mean you are low on oil.
A low cholestrol diet isn't as hard as you'd think. It's just the matter of knocking out a few small things from your diet. This link provides a handful of tips on how to get started on your diet. http://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/features/checklist-your-low-cholesterol-diet
In series motor, At no Load Condition the flow of Armature Current is low, then the Flux is also low. Flux is inversely proportional to speed. If flux is decrease the speed is rapidly increase it spoil the rotor parts...... so SERIES MOTOR is start with LOAD.....
you prolly have a burnt lifter; or valve if OHC. Stop lugging (forcing too much work in low revs) and allow the motor to approach 1000 revs or so below redline a few times an hour, to increase oil pressure and get oil out to the end lifters.
