To remove visible scratches from a diamond, a diamond cutter can either re-cut the stone, or polish out the scratches if they are not deep.

How do you repair scratches on Fountainhead counter tops?

You can repair scratches on Fountainhead counter-tops by sanding them with wet sandpaper. Sand the scratches lightly so you do not sand away too much of the surface.

Wondering if theres a safe and easy way to remove scratches and haziness from plastic headlight lensesI bought a used '05 toyota corolla CE and the headlights were all scratched and hazy?

In order to remove the scratches and Haze on the plastic you must first wet sand using 1500 grit, then 2000 grit and lastly 2500 grit. Also use a soft block so the sanding is even. The wet sanding will remove all of the heavy scratches and the haziness. Each step of wet sanding will result in a smoother surface which will be easier to buff up. Once sanded the headlight plastic should be smooth and scuffed. You will then have to use a buffing wheel with a medium grit compound. This will bring the shine back to the plastic by removing the micro scratches created by the wet sanding. Once you have a nice shine you can throw a coat of wax on them and wipe them down with a micro fiber towel. I recommend calling a local car detailer or auto body shop. The usually charge around $125. Another option is buying new headlights.

Will wet sanding take off glue?

Wet sanding may remove some glues in someconditions. However I've found dry sanding more effective with most adhesives. It depends very much on the exact 'glue' in use here.

When you prime a car do you have to dry sand or wet sand the car before you paint it.?

You really could do either or neither. If your using an epoxy primer sanding is not necessary. If not you could wet or dry sand whichever you prefer. Wet sanding makes for a smoother texture finish and less dust of course.

How do you make paint protection for automotive paints?

Paint correction my friend is a very involved process that can stem from simple polishing and glazing with a high speed buffer for car wash scratches to moderate scratches to Wet Sanding the Orange peel out of an entire paint job. Now if your talking about protection for the paint surface you should use a clear coat such as the DuPont Teflon line of Clear Coats.

When should you wet sand a car?

Wet sanding new paint on a car is very important if you want to get that paint to look it's best, having a glassy smooth look and feel! Wet sanding is meant to flatten and level out new paint, remove small runs or sags, remove surface debris that landed on the paint while it was wet, flatten out orange peel along with minor pot holes, which are called "fish eyes," within the paint. Rubbing compound is applied after a wet sand to bring the color of the paint back to life before clear coat or "Silicone Free" glaze applications. NOTE: You should not apply any wax until the paint has had 60 to 90 days to completely dry and get hard. ~someone els
