My 94 had problems with what I thought was the MAF. You can easily clean the wire within the MAF by using clean ?rubbing? alchohol on a qutip. But, ultimately what cured my problem was to replace the fuel filter. Just get the special tool for the flare connections for it. ( they are like some special airconditioning fittings ). Replace the fuel filter with a top line filter. Don't go cheap. They are just too hard to put in to waste time with a cheap filter. Oh, after you've cleaned the maf wire and replaced the fuel filter. Disconnect your battery ( double check if you need radio codes first ) and then reconnect. Your engine's computer will re-learn after you've started it and driven it around for a while. Best of luck.
Yes, the power train management computer needs input from this sensor to time the spark to each cylinder. With a bad sensor there will be no ignition and the engine won't start.
poor battery cable connection
A malfunctioning oxygen sensor can cause the engine to be low on power.
EVO sensor. Also known as steering speed sensor. Bad power steering pump, hose broke.
This would be only caused by Excessive blow by from the engine position sensor.
If a 2000 Jeep Wrangler suddenly loses power in 5th gear, it might be a problem with the speed sensor on the transmission. This sensor regulates when the Jeep will shift or should shift.
A faulty crank sensor would cause none of the plugs and injectors to work. Without an input signal from the crank sensor the brain will not know how to time it's signals. Most are designed not to attempt to function without the sensors signal.
A bad oxygen sensor can cause power loss, reduced fuel economy and damage to your catalytic converter.
Use test light to be sure wiring is OK sometimes those thin wires break
A bad throttle sensor can cause several problems. Symptoms include rough idle, loss of power, and even power surges while driving. .
There is no fuse for the oxygen sensor. The only fuse is for the ECM. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a 1997 Ford Explorer, there is a 20 amp mini fuse for the Hego system (heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor) in location # 11 in your power distribution box in the engine compartment.
