Does velocity dash fit in Golf MK1
Yes, I have it done on mine. The MK3 2.0 gearbox fails when it gets to high mileage. The Mk2 1.8 gearbox is bulletproof.
no
No they fit different, although mk2 and mk3 and some mk4 polo gearboxes will fit. You want an 8P gearbox.
Yes, albeit new engine and gearbox mounting need to be fabricated.
yes i just put my 8v box on my 16v bolts straight on
Only if it has a completely different gearbox (with overdrive) fitted. You would then have to find an engine to fit the gearbox. You may have problems fitting this into the bodyshell, so I suggest you source a secondhand body from a car that will fit the engine and gearbox. Maybe you could fit the body from the car you took the engine and gearbox out of? Then all you need is an interior, driveshafts, brakes, wheels etc. and the job is done!
No the mountings are different and the gearbox ratios won't be able to pull the heavier golf. Also you will need a custom ECU for the new engine timings. I would just find another 1.4 golf engine if u need one.
Need more detail... Which mk1 and which mk2? (Year/Engine/Spec/Box type, ie '83 1.8 GTI, Manual) Depends on gearbox fitted to either.
no
If the velocity is constant (i.e., there is no acceleration). Terminal velocity is an example, although any constant velocity would fit this description.
I have been looking for a replacement gearbox for my 2000HDi, found that the 1.9 will not fit.
