The fuel pump usually is either always on or on based on demand pressure/vacuum. A bad crank sensor (one that tells the fuel system the engine isn't turning when it really is) will prevent fuel being introduced into the cylinders just like a bad fuel pump though. Really dumb design in my view-- my daughters VW Beattle was famous for these kinds of failures.
AnswerYesPossibly the crank sensor or the coil pack is dead. But with a dead crank sensor you also get no spark, no crank. No crank equals no fuel delivery.
Have you checked for fuel and spark? Camshaft sensor and or crank sensor will cause that problem as well!
Try the crank sensor first, then the cam sensor. without these the car will not spark. Most commonly the crank sensor though.
Many other options. No fuel pressure, broken timing belt, computer malfunction, no spark,
I had the same issue with mine...it was the crank/fuel sensor...cost - 50.00 for part
Should not. The crank sensor does not come in contact with the fuel nor the exhaust.
crank position sensor
A faulty crank sensor would cause no spark and no fuel.
If it has spark and fuel I would suspect the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor has failed. If it has no spark, I would suspect the crank sensor has failed. If it has no fuel, I would suspect the fuel pump has failed.
No.
fuel pump was coming on before changed fuel filter now its not is there a reason for this
Out of gas, failed fuel pump, alternator, timing belt, crank sensor, cam sensor, computer, etc.Out of gas, failed fuel pump, alternator, timing belt, crank sensor, cam sensor, computer, etc.
