COULD BE A LOT OF THINGS, CHECK TO SEE IF ANY TROUBLE CODES HAVE BEEN SET BY SHORTING THE 2 UPPER LEVEL RIGHT CONTACTS WHERE THE SAN TOOL PLUGS INTO, UNDERNEATH DRIVERS SIDE TO THE RIGHT OF STEERING WHEEL. YOU'LL FIND HOW TO THIS THIS ELSEWHERER ON THIS SITE, ITS VERY EASY. OR GO TO KRAGEN'S AND FOR A $200.00 DEPOSIT THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE LASTEST MODEL SCAN TOOL TO USE FOR 24 HOURS FREE. IF YOU RAN THE CAR OUT OF GAS RECENTLY AND HAD TO CRANK IT A LOT TO GET IT STARTED ITS MOST LIKELY THE FUEL PUMP WHICH IS LOCATED INSIDE THE GAS TANK. BUT TEST THE PRESSURE FIRST THEN CHECK / CHANGE YOUR FUEL FILTER LOCATED UNDERNEATH PASSENGER SIDE BETWEEN DOOR AND FRONT TIRE.
the distributer could be the problem. It controls distribution of spark and the grounding signal that goes to the ecm. Take away the grounding signal and you will get no fuel.If the starter is turning over on the 1989 Honda Civic but the engine is not getting gas, the problem is more likely the fuel pump than the injectors. Clogged injectors might cause difficult starts but a damaged fuel pump will cause the vehicle to receive no fuel at all.

Where is the fuel pump fuse on a 1989 corvette
Bad fuel lines, clogged fuel injectors, or it may be getting the fuel but not igniting it, which is a different set of causes, and I'm certain that I forgot a few... Can you hear your electric fuel pump running? If not check to see if you are getting fire to it.

You are not getting fuel. Possible causes are fuel pump, fuel filter, wiring to fuel pump, fuel injectors, wiring to injectors, computer,
Are you getting power to the system?
inside the fuel tank
no gas no power
two.... it has throttle body fuel injection
I never heard of any fuel injectors getting damaged from running out of gas.
Sounds like a faulty fuel pump. The fuel filter could also be plugged up.
