the only thing i can think of is the safety switch in the transmission... it detects anything wrong with transmission and kills the engine to prevent damage. you disconnect that and the engine wont run at all, wont even crank.
yes you can, you have to take off you serpentine belt and then disconnect lines running to your power steering pump, take out the bolts and replace it.
Make sure your internet is running fast, the better internet you have the more chance it wont disconnect.

I'd check your alternator. Disconnecting the positive terminal while the engine is running will tell you. If the engine dies when you disconnect the battery, it's your alternator. If it keeps running it's something else, like your battery. I had the same problem.
