My ignition is hard to turn as well. I just jiggle it up and down while inserted.. and then try to turn it on while jiggling... it's sooo stupid... @ one point it wouldn't budge for anything.. I was ready to replace it.. but then it started turning again!

I HAVE FOUND IT TO WORK SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER IF YOU USE A SPARE KEY THAT DOESN'T HAVE MUCH WEAR TO IT. I RUN INTO THE PROBLEM NOW ABOUT ONCE EVERY 30-40 STARTS AS OPPOSED TO EVERY 5-10. THE BONUS IS THAT IT DOESN'T COST A THING!

i know its to do with a wire on the bcm, which is under the glove box, but i cant the right info online.. if its the same as 98 then you just gotta ground the blue wire on the center plug

I have a 2000 Malibu 3.1,and i found the best way to change the plugs, in front you have plenty of room, in back if you take the 3 bolts on coil plate out and disconnect wiring. the back plugs are easier to get to!! remove coils and plate, on lumina 3.1 you can tilt engine forward,but on Malibu 3.1 you cant move engine forward!! firing order is ---1-2-3-4-5-6-----135 in back 246 in front.

Are you sure that it is infact the power steering pump? I myself have the same car and I thought it was the pump but, when I finaly looked at it...it turned out to be the hose! Anyways if it is the pump its pretty easy. I cant really tell you in detail but its down under the serpintin belt.
