you should NEVER clean an o2 sensor. they are very sensitive so you should replace them. ==POSSIBLE CAUSE= It is quite possible the cause of the code showing (lt bank running lean) is a contaminated Mass Air Sensor which you can usually take off and clean. It should be on the outside where your air cleaner box is. Use electronic tuner cleaner from Radio Shack; Part (#64-431515) if it's not too dirty. Be careful spraying the "hot" wire inside the sensor and then let dry 15 to 20 minutes. Stick no objects in there; they could break the "sensing" wire.

Replace them at 100,000 miles or if the engine has a miss or is not running right.
you have to pull the engine.

You can replace the speedometer cable, on your 1988 Ford Ranger, by loosening the cable nut on each end of the cable. The cable will come off and can then be replaced.
Check the engine RPM. If the engine is running too fast when you put it into drive, it will cause the vehicle to jump.
Check your vacuum lines this usually the cause for a surge in engine speed when idling or running.
