It could be one of two things, either a) you need to replace your spark plugs and cables. or b) (which was the problem with my car) the mass air flow sensor or (MAF) is bad and needs to be replaced.

Q: You have a 1999 grand prix gt at warm start up you get a up and down motion with the engine and the rpm gauge just 4 mabybe 10 sec and some warm starts you get like a stutter idle almost like its puts?
