It may be a valve cover gasket, which is far less labor intensive to replace.

How do you know it's not the gasket and just not the sensor out?

If you think you have a vacuum leak because of a bad gasket, spray the area with carb cleaner while the engine is running. If you have a vacuum leak the engine idle speed will change when you hit the right spot.

What is a head casket Land Rover discovery?

I think you mean head "gasket" - not casket. This is the gasket that is placed between the engine block (bottom part of the engine) and the cylinder head. Your Disco has two heads, so two head gaskets, a left one and a right one.

What is the gasket that the radiator hose connects to by the engine?

On the 2.4L z24 I think you are talking about the one on top on the driver sid. That is the OUTLET GASKET and it is a rubber O RING.The temp. sensor is screwed into that to detect cooling temp. as it leaves the engine. Coolant leaves the engine to head to the radiator to be cooled.

Where is the petrol pump located on 1998 ford fiesta petrol?

i think, if im right, its on the back of the engine. i think, if im right, its on the back of the engine.

Why is your oil in your engine milkly?

you might have a head gasket blown. when the seal breaks your coolant runs in to your engine or out of your engine. Is there white smoke blowing out your tail pipe? If so it`s running in, and it`s a head gasket. I can`t think of anything else but old oil!!!!!!!!!!!!

An engine that had antifreeze in the oil pan and it set a long period of time And I think it's locked?

If you are lucky, then the head gasket is blown. If you are not lucky, the engine block or cylinder head is cracked.

Why does a car produce white smoke from under the hood after the engine is off and the temperature gauge is normal?

It sounds like, perhaps, oil is leaking out of the value cover gasket and is vaporizing on the hot engine and manifold. I think if it's an older vehicle, and if you replace the valve cover gasket, you'll cure the problem.

Do you have a blowen head gasket?

A blown Head gasket can cause a number of things to happen to an engine.---- 1 a loss of compression in one or more cylinders2 Engine miss loss of power.3 Water coming out of the exhaust.4 the oil starts to turn white.5 the water in the radiator spews upward when turning the engine over.6 Overheating engine.---- I think I got them all covered there.----

Does a head gasket make an engine lose compression?

Verification on your question: Do head gaskets make cars lose pressure....hmmmmm, I think what your asking is.... Does a head gasket make an engine lose compression. - Correct? The simple answer is yes, it does, but it is by design. The amount the head gasket lowers the compression (or pressure) is built into the overall design of the engine. For instance, if you were to assemble the head to the block, without a gasket, you would raise the compression (pressure) slightly and potentially cause damage to the engine. This would most likely become apparent when you burn out a valve or burn a hole in the top of a piston. In general terms: - The greater the compression ratio, the bigger the explosion in the bore and the more heat that is produced.

How much should it cost to replace a blown valve gasket?

you mean a valve cover gasket i think

Your 1995 Isuzu rodeo is smoking from the motor what could hat could this be?

I think your valve cover gasket may be letting oil leak out onto the hot engine. It then "burns" off releasing the smoke you refer to. If you replace the valve cover gasket it should correct the problem.
