On top of the steering column, there is a small access cover. Pry that off with a small screwdriver and underneath there is a bypass that you can press to shift the car back to Park.

Linkage from the shifter to the tranny might be broken, frayed, streched, or misadjusted, check that cable out and make sure its all set, if it is, the tranny may or may not be blown.
what years is it? My 83 244gl automatic switch went bad on the shifter and was stuck with overdrive off. I pulled the switch out and unplugged it. Then I connected tapped the wires together with screwdrivers and turned the overdrive on that way. Now i just drive with it on.
