Actually this engine isn't worth very much unless it has an original 302 crank in it and it is a 4 bolt main, this casting number was a very common one and was used for the z-28 like the previous poster said however it was also used for 2 and 4 bolt 327's and 2 and 4 bolt 350's the only main difference is the crank and main caps, it probably is a high nickle block however making it pretty good for performance. it is not however a 305 since these came factory with 4 inch bores(305 is 3.736 inch bore)
No. That number was used for 302's, 327's, and 350's. (4" bore)

This is the block casting number for a Chevy 305, build between 1976 and 1979.
Check the head casting numbers and reference a book that details what casting belongs to what. The best way to tell is measure the cylinder bore. Chevy 350 has a 4.00 inch bore, whereas the 305 has a 3.736 inch bore. You can't tell from the crank, they have the same crank with the same 3.480 inch stroke.
On the drivers side of the engine in back of the cylinder head there are casting numbers and next to the casting numbers are raised letters either 5.7 or 5.0.
14093627 is listed on Mortec as an 87-94 305 block.
It depends on the year. In the mid to late 80's, GM started putting Chevys in a lot of Buicks, Pontiacs, and Oldsmobiles. Check your casting numbers to find out for sure.
It is a Chevy 305 or 262 cubic inch. You could tell by measuring the bore of the cylinder. A 3.671 bore is a 262 and a 3.736 bore is a 305. They were made from 1975 to 1996 and they are all 2 bolt main seal engines regardless of year. The only year the 262 was made was 1975 so if your date code gives you anything other than 1975 then it would be a 305.
The engine id is on a pad on the block located in front of the passenger side head.
You have to read the block (casting vin) if you pull off the valve covor and compair to this site you will be able to find out Good luck http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm
What I found that its 1986-1988 I have the same 305 sitting in my garage
