no it's not ok matter of fact you shouldn't be sitting any lower than 25-30 i suggest you have your oil pump changed soon before it's sitting at zero and you blow the engine.

I'm Pretty sure the Z28 has to have 58lbs of pressure.That could be causing your problem.

I feel sure you have checked to see that the engine has oil in it. You need to install an external oil pressure gauge, the mechanical type and check for pressure. If it shows that you have oil pressure then your sending unit is defective.
