Choosing the Right DMR

First, you are going to want to decide if you want a wireless system, or a wired. In most cases, the deciding factor will be the location of your router relative to your television. If running a CAT-5 cable from the DMR to the router and then to the television is simply not an option, then a wireless system would be a better choice. DMRs all accomplish the same task, but there are several models. Essentially, if you want to experience the least amount of packet loss during the transfer of content, then you will want a more expensive model. Some DMRs are only compatible with certain devices, such as Microsoft DMRs only being compatible with the Xbox 360. Before purchasing your DMR, make sure that it will function with your media devices.

Connecting your DMR to Other Media Devices

As long as your devices have wireless capability, they will be able to connect to the DMR. However, if the device is not wireless, then you will need to purchase the right cords for connecting the device to the DMR. The DMR will connect to your router with either a CAT-5 cable or by a wireless connection. From there, the DMR encompasses devices such as cameras, MP3 players, phones, personal computers, and video recorders.
