To remove the instrument cluster from a 1996 Ford Thunderbird, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, remove the trim bezel surrounding the cluster by unscrewing or unclipping it. Next, take out the screws securing the instrument cluster itself, carefully pull it out, and disconnect the wiring harness and any connectors. Finally, replace or service as needed and reverse the steps to reinstall.
